The mucous membrane or mucosa is a thin layer of cells that produce mucus to protect the epithelium. The most important mucous membranes are those of the intestine, mouth, respiratory tract, eyes, vaginal, etc.
Mucus production decreases with age, but other factors may be responsible for dryness of the mucosa, such as:
- A change in the female hormonal balance (menopause, etc.)
- Climate (severe heat, dryness and cold)
- Air conditioning, wearing clothes contact lenses
- Medication

- Preferably store in a cool and dry place
